Concept Description:

Similar to Bridge Concept Number 1 this design is a two tower cabled-stayed solution features a unique pylon form whose shape responds to the forces acting on it. The A-frame over the roadway supports a spindle shaped tower with a pointed top. The A-frame and the spindle are made of high performance concrete and the top of the spindle is a conical shell of zinc-titanium of beautiful brilliance similar to the cover of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. The sculpted shape of the towers is elegant and original, creating a gateway on the border between the two countries, and the spindles with reflective tops symbolize a Beginning of a New Era in the 21st Century.

The slenderness of the new bridge structure stands in sharp contrast to the existing bridge and creates an interesting juxtaposition of form and technology. There will be no doubt that this new structure was built with an eye to the future.
